Unfortunately I do have some bad news... while raising rabbits can be fairly easy and inexpensive once you know what you doing many times it can literally take years of dedication and thousands of dollars out of your pocket to get to that point.
I'm not sure if you have heard my story or not but the truth of the matter is... I wasn't always the "Rabbit Guru" or "The Rabbit Master" that people tell me I am today. In fact, I actually started out with absolutely no personal knowledge and a single californian rabbit trio that to my surprise I barely was able to find within a hundred mile radius of my house in Agbado Ogun State.

Although I was thankfully enough able to find breeding stock rabbits from a breeder located in Alagbado Kola Bus-Stop Lagos, honestly for the next couple years I didn't really know what I was doing. To prove my point I literally started out my rabbit project with three rabbits that I didn't know anything about. Luckily enough I guessed right on the rabbit breed that I purchased because I honestly didn't know much about the different rabbit breeds at the time. Also I was fortunate enough that the breeder that sold me my first rabbits picked me out a couple descent quality rabbits because quite frankly at the time I wouldn't have known the difference between a "Bad Quality Rabbit" and an "Excellent Quality Rabbit", other rabbit raisers that I have met unfortunately haven't always got lucky with being sold good rabbits.

Purchasing my rabbits was just the beginning of the many struggles I encountered... it literally took hundreds of hours and a substantial monetary investment to even begin getting good results with my rabbits. The first year I didn't have any bunnies born for sale that I had been so excited to do. To be honest... it literally took about 1 year of hard work and dedication before I received any substantial positive results from my rabbitry.

The Good News is... once I finally began to develop a good "system" for my rabbitry... things began to change rapidly.
Instead of losing bunnies all the time due to unnatural causes and having to worry about whether or not I would be able to properly take care of, house, and sell my rabbits...

I finally began to successfully grow my rabbitry!

HOW TO START RABBIT FARMING
You can get started, without the costly items the so-called experts say you should have, with N80,000 one can kick-off with one male and four females depending on the age, weight and specie. They are reared in cages with galvanized wire mesh floor which costs N16, 000to N20, 000, therefore with N45, 000 one is already in business.

Get started with a good foundation stock. Beware of fly-by-night sellers and find a reputable breeder to get your rabbits. A good foundation can make a huge difference in your production. And always be skeptical of the seller. Physically inspect the parents as they are an indication of what the offspring will become.
A good way to start small is by getting 1 buck and 1 to 2 does. This will allow you to start your breeding on a small scale and learn the basics. Later you may want to add another buck from a different line (this has both advantages and disadvantages) and a few more does. You will then be able to keep the best quality young and breed them order to maintain optimal results. Having 2 bucks also protects your breeding program if one of your bucks dies; giving you time to raise another while still using your remaining bucks for breeding.
Just be sure that if you are just starting out, start small. Making mistakes on a small scale is much better than making them on a large scale. As you learn the ropes, grow your rabbitry. And no matter how much you study on the subject, you will always be making improvements.
Also, make sure you are getting your information from qualified producers. Everyone is willing to give free information, whether accurate or not. And especially with the Internet, anyone can claim to be an expert while sitting behind the keyboard. Unfortunately even many veterinarians are lacking correct information on raising rabbits and may give inaccurate advice to their clients. When finding a vet, make sure they know and understand rabbits. And ask people who have the same goals as you. Raising a rabbit for show is completely different than raising a rabbit for meat production. And even those raising rabbits for meat production vary dramatically from the casual breeder who is more interested in the hobby of raising rabbits to the serious breeder who is trying to maximize their results and get the most meat out of every penny spent, while maintaining good, healthy lives for their rabbits. Find those who have been raising rabbits and learned through experience and association with others in the business. Getting correct information at the beginning of your endeavor will save money, headaches and time. It can make all the difference between a very rewarding experience and a less-than-optimal experience.
Breeding
After they are born, many recommend rebreeding the does after 2 to 3 weeks. If bred 2 weeks after kindling, wean the young at 4 weeks.
Does will reduce milk production at 3 weeks we use this aggressive (and expert supported) technique and breed the does 2 to 3 weeks after kindling (depending on the condition of the doe). With this breeding program we then wean at 4 weeks. This breeding schedule is between 7 to 8 litters a year. The schedule you'll follow is something you'll need to decide for yourself.
However quickly you rebreed your does after kindling will obviously determine how many litters a year you get. The following shows the number of litters per year you'll get based upon how quickly you breed after kindling:
•   42 days after kindle = 5 litters/year
•   35 days after kindle = 5.5 litters/year
•   28 days after kindle = 6 litters/year
FEEDING
After the rains there is usually an abundance of wild herbs and weeds that rabbits will enjoy but ensure at all times that your rabbits have a varied diet of roughage and greens.
Concentrates (rabbit pellets or rabbit mash) should be fed twice a day as follows:

 * 0 - 16th week after weaning give 65 - 100 g/day

 * Pregnant does give 225 g/day/doe

 * Active Buck give 90 - 100 g/day
